Energy Minister Anil Vij suspends 6 employees for negligence

Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij took strict cognizance of the death of a youth named Rajesh Kumar in village Haibatpur, Nigdu, in Karnal district due to electric shock in a field and issued instructions to suspend six employees, including an SDO.
Action has been taken against Mohit, SDO, Sunil, JE, Deepak, Ajit, Satyawan and Vikas, all Linemen.
Responding to questions of media persons in Chandigarh today in this regard, the Minister said in this regard, an FIR has also been lodged against these six persons at Nigdu police station on July 6, 2025, in which the complainant Pradeep Kumar has told that the deceased and Pradeep Kumar had complained several times to the SDO, JE and linemen to fix the wires hanging low in the field. But no action was taken by them in this regard, due to which Rajesh Kumar died due to electric shock in the field.
He said the wire was only about 5 feet high but the concerned employees did not raise its level. The farmer went to the field in the morning and died after coming in contact with the wire, which is a huge negligence. Therefore, these employees have been suspended with immediate effect in this case.
