Varun Sharma, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala, while issuing a press release informed that Patiala Police has initiated a special operation against gangsters and criminal elements, Inspector Shaminder Singh incharge CIA Patiala, under the supervision of Harbir Singh, Atwal, PPS, Superintendent of Police Investigation Patiala and Sukhamrit Singh Randhawa, PPS Deputy Superintendent of Police Detective Patiala, has nabbed Sahil alias Kala, resident of Urban Estate, Patiala on April 6,2023 alongwith 2 pistols of .32 bore and 10 cartridges and one I-20 Car bearing registration no. HR-08-AE-6885 of white colour in a Dharminder Singh’s murder case, dacoity and other robbery cases.
Sharma added that Sahil is a seventh class dropout and was in driver profession, wanted in four grave cases in Punjab and Haryana and he was main culprit behind the murder of kabaddi player Dharminder Singh alias Bhinda son of Dhamttar Singh resident of Village Duan Kalan, District Patiala, in front of Punjabi University on April 6,2022. All his other accomplices were already arrested and are presently in jail. Only Sahil was fugitive, till his arrest.
He further informed that a latest FIR no. 26 dated 05.04.2023 has been registered against Sahil alias Kala under section 25 (7) (8) of the Arms Act at Police Station Bakshiwala, District Patiala
“Apart from this, Sahil was also wanted in a robbery case of a liquor vend committed at Pihowa on 06.08.2020. He was also wanted in a case of robbery vide FIR no. 234/2021 under section 392,395, IPC and 25 Arms Act Police Station Kotwali Patiala “ said Sharma.

Further divulging the details , SSP added that “a few days before the murder of Dharminder Singh, the associates of Sahil alias Kala had put up the posters of Lawrence Bishnoi and SOPU Group in Punjabi University. The accused of the Bhinda murder case, are very close to the members of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. The Patiala police will also bring the accused persons, who are lodged in jail and are related to this murder, for further investigation in the case.”
The Senior Superintendent of Police Patiala informed that arrested accused Sahil will be produced before court and after obtaining police remand, he will be deeply interrogated.
