Exemplary efforts of Punjabi University for Project Based Education to M.Tech AI&DS Students

Department of Computer Science, Punjabi University Patiala always proved its quality through its teaching pedagogy in synchronization with current education system.
Today is the era where students need to have hands on training skills to survive in market. Department of Computer Science again proved to go with the market need by engaging their M.Tech. (AI&DS) students in executing projects at various prestigious institutions during their transit period from 2nd Semester to 3rd Semester. All the students of MTech AI and DS 2nd semesters spent their quality time in industries on their real projects.
Jobanpreet Singh and Jashneet Kaur, students of M.Tech(AI&DS) had an internship at IIT Ropar under the guidance of Dr. Arun Kumar, a distinguished Professor there. During their internship, they mixed finance with technology to create something really cool – the Option Pricing Calculator. They have built a calculator that guesses option prices well. They put in things like stock price, strike price, time left, and how crazy the market is. After lots of looking things up and coding, they turned all that into a digital calculator that’s pretty good at its job.They also dealt with Barrier Options, which are tricky because they only start working when prices hit certain levels. This part needed creative coding to handle the complicated situations.Their journey towards mixed finance and tech come up with an Option Pricing Calculator that’s easy to use. It’s not just about math – it’s about teamwork between finance, coding, design, and making things simple.Currently, Jobanpreet and Jashneet are working in collaboration with DRDO Bangalore.
They are enhancing Punjabi Text-to-Speech capabilities, thereby creating new avenues for empowerment. Munish Mangla, another student of MTech AI&DS is doing his internship at BlueAves E-Health Pvt. Ltd., a Germany based company. He is working on Sentiment Analysis for Political battles happening at Social Media. Ishant and Sahil completed his internship from Sabudh Foundations, Mohali and Tatras, a Canada based Company. Abdul Latif has completed his internship from Department of Computer Science and has worked on very innovative project related to management of institutional data for NAAC and NIRF. Lovejeet and prabh completed their internship at Tatras, Canada based company. They worked on no-coding platform and currently working on Web scraping projects.
Exemplary efforts of Punjabi University for Project Based Education to M.Tech AI&DS Students. Prof. Sukhjeet K. Ranade, Head of the department, Department of Computer Science told that all the students are very enthusiastic for gaining practical knowledge and Department is keen in providing opportunities to them.She informed that Department has recently started series of Technical sessions from Industry People to impart knowledge required for placements. It will be conducted every week for most of final year students of the department. Department will do each and every effort for imparting its students practical knowledge.
