Now, ‘History of Dera Babba Jassa Singh’ book is available in English too –Dera

The book ‘History of Dera Babba Jassa Singh’ that has been published by the Dera for their admirers, followers has been published in English also. Earlier the book was available in Punjabi language only.
Keeping in mind the demand, request by NRIs the management of Dera Baba Jassa Singh had decided to get it translated and published it in English for wider circulation, particularly out of Punjab.
The management asked Jaswant Singh Puri to do this noble cause of translating the book from Punjabi to English.
Puri accepted this honour to translate the 115 page ‘History of Dera Babba Jassa Singh’ book in English. He translated the entire book, word by word keeping in mind the sanctity of the book from Punjabi to English.
The book explores about the spirituality enlightened saints that lived in the Dera in early days. The book was earlier in Punjabi and was authored by Professor Jasbir Singh, General Secretary, Dera Baba Jassa Singh.
Later, the Dera published the English version of the book, translated by Jaswant Singh Puri and is now available for free of cost in the office of the Dera.
On this Puri said ‘it is a matter of pride and pleasure that he has been entrusted with the task of translating the Punjabi Book of ‘History of Dera Babba Jassa Singh’ book into English. I have been able to accomplish this task by the grace and blessings of Spirituality Enlightened Souls of the Dera, almighty’s power, my mother late Alka Puri’s blessing and my father Dr Ajit Singh Puri’s motivation.”
Dera Baba Jassa Singh, a holy place spreading over 117 Bighas located on Sular Road in Patiala, was established in 1964 and its management was handed over to the committee. Dera Baba Jassa Singh is in the cherished memory of four great souls, great saintly figures – Baba Hardit Singh, Baba Jassa Singh, Baba Nand Singh and Baba Gurmukh Singh Ji.
The Dera is associated with Guru Nanak Foundation having a Gurudwara as well as Gurmat College , is an ancestral one and has the patronage of the Royal family of Patiala.
