FAKE News-Senior Punjab Police officers’ transferred; spreading fake news is a crime-Punjab Govt

Today, on some social media platforms news was circulated that two senior officers of Punjab police has been transferred.
As per the fake news in circulation, commissioner Amritsar Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, IPS has been transferred to Ludhiana and Kuldeep Singh Chahal, IPS , commissioner Ludhiana Police has been posted as commissioner Amritsar police.
A Punjab government spokesperson later clarified that no such transfers orders were made and the news is Fake news. The spokesperson further added that “Such news if shared without taking authentic information from concerned authorities shall be dealt strictly from now onwards; spreading fake news is a crime.”
