Dec 23, 2017 was a day filled with fun and frolic in Police DAV Public School, Patiala where in the students and staff of Police DAV Public School organized “Festejar” . It was an amalgam of excitement and fun.
The students presented a cultural programme which began with lighting of the lamp by the chief guest for the show Dr.M.D. Ranga , Senior Scientific officer, NIS, Patiala. The students of classes Nursery to Xth participated enthusiastically in the sports parody highlighting the achievements of sports stars of our country. A tribute was paid to the Char Sahibzadas also with recitation of Shabads, enhancing their glory & supreme sacrifice.
Then a Retro Dance was performed by the students celebrating the merriment of Christmas eve. They held the crowd spell bound and they made the whole ambiance magical. Parents were highly delighted to see their wards in various stage performances. The primary exhibition was also inaugurated by the chief guest where in various activities conducted by the primary wing were put on display.
The tiny tots were seen welcoming & reciting poems in order to greet the visitors. The whole campus bore a colourful & festive look. The highlight of the programme was the “Baby Show” organized for children up to 6 years of age. The budding models ramp walked on the tunes showcasing their talent. The cultural programme concluded with Sammi Dance based on Punjab’s folk history. It forced the audience to tap to the beats and move into another dream world of Dance. Dr. Ranga inaugurated the game zone too where he tried his hand at one or two games. He was amazed to see a variety of new games at all the stalls.
The parents enjoyed relishing the eatables at the food stalls. They had a gala time. The Chief Guest and the visitors were thrilled to visit Patiala’s first 3-D lab in school where they were shown how education is imparted through latest technology. Everyone was mesmerized to visit the school campus and applauded the efforts of students and staff in nurturing the talents of young minds.
On this occasion, Dr.Ranga lauded the achievements of the school and in becoming one of the prominent school in the city. The school Principal Meena Thapar thanked the Chief Guest for his valuable time and the parents visitors in making the event a success . She further added that Police DAV Public School will continue to strive for the upliftment of society & country by exhibiting the talents of students through such functions.
