First time in the history of Punjab an IPS officer to head Vigilance and Intelligence wing jointly

Punjab government has appointed special DGP Vigilance Varinder Kumar as the new intelligence chief of the Punjab police.
Now, he is most powerful officer of Punjab police after the DGP Gaurav Yadav.
In May 2022, he was appointed as the Chief Director Vigilance Bureau and today as Intelligence chief. He replaces IG Jaskaran Singh, IPS who is looking after as ADGP Intelligence
