Former DPRO Ujagar Singh honored with Patiala Rattan award

Punjab Writers and Cultural Forum honored Patiala Rattan award to Ujagar Singh Former District Public Relations officer for his Social work and writing Articles in Punjabi newspapers on current issues in the interest of Public. Rana Kanwar Pal singh Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha and Maharani Preneet Kaur former State Minister of External Affairs conferred him Patiala Rattan award at Patiala in a function organized in Kalidasa Auditorium, North Zone Culture Centre ,Patiala. Ved Parkash Gupta Chairman of the Forum was also present on the occasion.
The Speaker said we needed to create and maintain an atmosphere where writers and artists could exhibit themselves freely. He said, “We need to create a society where the learned can lead us. Awards like the Punjab and Patiala Rattan encourage people to work harder.”
Ujagar Singh said that the forum was doing a great job by honouring persons who had done significant work in their respective fields.
Madan Lal Hasiza, Secretary General of the Fourm, who conducted the proceedings, welcomed the awardees and also the guests. He, along with Ved Parkash Gupta, listed the activities of the Panjab Writers and Cultural Forum.
