    Former Union Minister Pawan Bansal supports agitating general insurance employees association’s demands

    “Today, a General Insurance Employees All India Association (GIEAIA) delegation representing Class 1, 3, and 4 employees, consisting of Comrade Trilok singh, Com Arvind Pillai, Com Pradeep Sharma, Rajeev Man and com Rajesh sharma  met Pawan kumar Bansal, Ex Union Minister of state for Finance, Ex Railway Minister and Ex M.P Lok sabha and senior most leader of Indian National congress” said Trilok Singh, General Secretary, GIEAIA.

    The delegation briefed him on key issues concerning Public Sector General Insurance Companies (PSGICs), including our strong opposition to the proposed 100% FDI in the insurance sector and the merger and consolidation of PSGICs.

    The GIEAIA delegation submitted a detailed memorandum requesting his intervention to take up these concerns with the Finance Minister. The major demands include:

    Immediate Wage Revision

    14% Employees Contribution to NPS

    Minimum 30% Family Pension

    Merger of PSGICs

    Opposition of 100% FDI in the Insurance Sector

    Adequate recruitment

    Strengthening of PSGICs

    “Bansal interacted with us and assured that he would effectively raise these concerns before the Finance Minister and to the Concerned authorities” said Darshan Kumar Wadhwa Secretary General, GIEAIA, Class I

    “After our meeting with Pawan Kumar Bansal, Ex state finance minister and Ex Railway minister Pawan Kumar Bansal issued a Press release supporting the Demands of the PSGICS employees and criticised 100% FDI in the Insurance sector” added Trilok Singh, General secretary, GIEAIA
