From today, outsiders entry ban in Panjab University

In a significant move to enhance security at the Panjab University campus and safeguard its academic community, Panjab University (P.U.) has decided that no outsiders will be allowed entry into its premises starting from April 2, 2025. The directive applies to all campuses and buildings located in Sector 14 and Sector 25.
In a Public Notice-cum-Office Order issued here today, PU Registrar Prof. Y.P. Verma informed that no outsider will be allowed entry in P.U. Premises from 2nd April, 2025, onwards. All students’, employees and stakeholders of the University are urgently required to carry and display their identity cards, on their person, while entering the University and while in its premises, to keep a check on unscrupulous elements, entering the University Campuses/buildings in Sector 14 and 25, and to maintain the law and order situation. Henceforth checking of vehicles and persons, entering the University Campuses (from different gates) and buildings, would be a regular feature, he further added.
