Gangster-turned-politician killed in police custody

In a daring act, Atiq Ahmed, the Uttar Pradesh gangster who faced at least 100 criminal cases, and his brother Ashraf Ahmed were shot dead who were in the custody of police .
He was shot point blank. The firing took place near MLN Medical College premises, where they were shot dead when they were being taken for a medical check-up in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj last night. The whole incident is recorded in the camera as the duo was taking to the media when the police is accompanying them for medical check-up.
Just two days ago, Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad was also killed in an encounter in UP’s Jhansi district.
Three people have been arrested, the police said. The shooters came disguised as reporters, the police said.
Gangster-turned-politician killed in police custody. As per available information, all three shooters, identified as Lavlesh Tiwari, Sunny, and Arun Maurya, have been nabbed by the UP Police, while one police constable Maan Singh sustained a minor injury.
Whereas , UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath in a late-night meeting instructed the state police officers to be on high alert and ensure law and order are maintained across the state.
Atiq Ahmed was an Indian criminal, politician, and a former member of the Indian Parliament and the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from the Samajwadi Party.
