General Category Federation meets Punjab CM’s representatives

A delegation of the General Category Welfare Federation  held a meeting with Chief Minister’s representatives at his residence and discussed their demands regarding the welfare of general category employees and handed over  4 page memorandum on Monday.

The delegation was led by Shyam Lal Sharma Chief Organisor and Jaswant Sigh Dhaliwal state President. The other members of the delegation were Balbir Singh Phuglana President Doaba General Category Welfare Front, Jagtar Singh Bhungtarni, Jaspal Singh Saini, Kuldeep Singh Ratoll, Gurdeep Singh Tiwana, Sarrbjit Kaushal, Raj Kumar Toni and other office bearers.

Shyam Lal Sharma and Jaswant Singh informed that an hour-long meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and they discussed all their demands with Navraj Singh Brar deputy principal secretary to CM and he assured on behalf of the chief minister that their issues and concerns would be resolved soon.

The main demand of the general category welfare federation is to appoint  a chairperson and members of  the Punjab State General Category Commission established for  the welfare of the general category so that problems of general categories are resolved in a time-bound manner.

The other demand of the general category welfare federation is the issuance of a circular issued by the personnel department regarding seniority and the closure of the roster after completion of the quota issued by the
welfare department. The federation also wants not to extend the benefit of reservation to the people who have become prosperous and crossed the poverty limit and making the basis of reservation on the economic basis.

General Category Federation meets Punjab CM’s representatives. The federation also demands that the reserved constituencies should be rotated so that people from the  general category can also contest from these constituencies which have been reserved for a long time. It is also demanded that the discrimination against  the general category should be removed and everyone should be treated equally to waive off the electricity bill of 600 units.
