GIEAIA class 1,3&4 delegation met CMD, ED, G.M.(P), DGM(P) of UII to discuss issues pertaining to employees, retirees etc

The GIEAIA leadership team, including Comrades R. Srinivasmurthy, Trilok Singh, Darshan Kumar Wadhwa, A. Kumaravelu, S. Savrimuthu, and John Paul, met with United India Insurance (UII) CMD, ED UII, GM(P), DGM(P), and other senior officials today at Chennai. During this meeting, they discussed various issues concerning employees, officers, pensioners, and retirees. The UII management responded positively and assured the delegation of constructive action on these matters.
“The GIEAIA leadership participated in the JFTU demonstration program outside UII HO on 28th October, 2024 where they addressed the gathering along with JFTU southern Zone comrades and called for intensifying and sharpening joint efforts. Our leadership stressed that opposing the government’s privatization and disinvestment policies is crucial to protecting PSGICs and realizing our rightful demands. Therefore, it is imperative to educate and raise awareness among all employees, officers, pensioners, and retirees to strengthen the ongoing struggle under the JFTU banner” said Trilok Singh General Secretary, GIEAIA.
Singh added “on 26th October 2024, under the leadership of Comrades R. Srinivasmurthy, K. Ramchandra Nair, R. Nithyanandan, and A. Kumaravelu, GIEAIA Class 1, 3 & 4 and the General Insurance Retirees Association (GIRA) held a Coordination Committee meeting in Chennai. This meeting was a step towards consolidating and strengthening our fight against PSGIC privatization, establishing a unified monolithic corporation, and achieving parity with LIC.”
Special guests at the meeting included Trilok Singh, General Secretary of GIEAIA, and Comrade Darshan Kumar Wadhwa, Secretary General of GIEAIA Class 1.
Darshan Kumar Wadhwa, Secretary General, GIEAIA, Class 1 Wing said “ more than a hundred representatives from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Pondicherry, representing nine regional committees – Bangalore, Hubballi, Salem, Hyderabad, Vizag, Chennai, Kerala, Madurai, Trichy, and Coimbatore – actively participated. They engaged in rigorous discussions on issues affecting employees, officers, pensioners, ex-employees, and retirees”.
Wadhwa added “the assembly unanimously formed a Coordination Zonal Committee for the Southern Zone, comprising 61 Executive Members from all Regional Committees, and called for intensified collective efforts to achieve the following objectives:
Merger of the four PSGI companies
Expedited resolution of the pending wage revision
Uniform family pension at 30%
Adequate recruitment across all cadres
Strengthening of PSGICs
Recognition of GIEAIA
Pension updation
Addressing issues for SVRS employees
Ensuring pension for all and justice for employees affected by resignation and anomalies
Enhancement of sum insured in staff mediclaim insurance
Timely redressal of grievances with HITPA.”

It also urged everyone to adhere to GIEAIA’s core principles and ideology” added Trilok Singh, General Secretary, GIEAIA.
