GKU Students bought laurels in Essay Writing Event

Shri Ram Chandra Mission (SRCM) in collaboration with United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan and the Heartfulness Institute organised “All India Essay Writing Event 2017-18” across the nation in three languages Hindi, English, and Punjabi.

In this event, nine thousands institutes participated and approximately 95000 essays were short listed. SRCM is a non-profitable organization and also conduct meditation and relaxation sessions for the students in schools, colleges and organization all over the country. SRCM believes that any change in society has to begin at the level of individual who constitute that society. Individual change occurs with change in human values. Such values need to be identified and inculcated in the youth at the early stages there development. The essay event was also designed to promote this notion and the topic selected for essay writing helped the participants to introspect on desirable human values. UG and PG class students of constituent colleges of Guru Kashi University participated in this essay event.

The topic was a quotation from well-known scientist Stephen Hawking “The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance but the illusion of knowledge”.

GKU Students bought laurels in All India Essay Writing Event

15 students of GKU bought laurels in an essay writing competition and got merit certificate and Amandeep Singh, student of B.Ed. (GGS) college of Education secured second position in Punjabi (state level) and received silver medal and outstanding merit certificate.

Gurjinder Singh of M.A. (GGS) college of Education begged 6th position in English language in the state level and was felicitated with outstanding merit certificate by Vijay Kumar Aggarwal, Central Coordinator of the Heartfulness Institute.

Poonam Aggarwal, the wife of Vijay Kumar Aggarwal congratulated the students and GKU management for their cooperation and support in organizing the essay event. VK Aggarwal also thanked S. Sukhraj Singh Sidhu, (Managing Director, GKU) and the staff, Chartered Engineer Harisharan Aggarwal (young scientist), Dr. Sunita, Dr. Amardeep Kaur, Dr. Jagwinder Singh, Dr. Arpna and the students, Ashish Lehri, Navjot Kaur, Tania Gupta, Preetinder Singh, Soni Rani, Amandeep Kaur, Avtar singh, Veerpal Kaur, Amarjeet Kaur Dhillon, Manish Sharma, Nirmal Kaur, Kushbir Kaur, Renu Preet Kaur  for their tenacious assistance during the event.

Managing director Sukhraj Singh Sidhu lauded the efforts of young scientist Harisharan Aggarwal. The GKU Vice Chancellor Col. Dr. BS Dhaliwal and Dr. Jagtar Singh Dhiman appreciated the efforts of Chartered Engineer. Harisharan Aggarwal and congratulated him for their outstanding contribution to the success of this event.
