GNDU Celebrated 71st Republic Day; VC unfurled the National Flag

The 71st Republic Day was celebrated at the Guru Nanak Dev University Campus with great enthusiasm. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu unfurled the National Flag at the University Guest House Lawns. A large number of teachers, employees, students and campus residents took part in these celebrations. The students of the Music Department presented patriotic songs to mark this event.

Prof. Balwinder Singh, Prof. Incharge F&D welcomed the chief guest and others while Prof. Karanjeet Singh Kahlon, Registrar presented vote of thanks.

Prof. Sandhu, while congratulating the University fraternity said that Guru Nanak Dev University is playing a vital role in the development of research, academia, sports, cultural activities at national and international level. He said that now campus is flourishing with constructive activities along with financial position.

He said that we are enjoying the freedom of rights granted by the Indian Constitution but we needed to remember our responsibilities and duties towards the nation also, though we all are equal so collective efforts are needed. While talking about future challenges, he said that for the development of University and Nation we all needed to work collectively according to changing society and challenges.  He said that new innovative methods should be adopted to update our working skills.

Earlier, Talking about the history of Republic Day, Professor In charge of Finance and Development, Prof., Balwinder Singh welcomed the Chief Guest and others. He said that freedom came from the immense sacrifices made by patriots. It should be our main responsibility now to maintain it.
