Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar, has announced the commencement of admissions for the academic session 2025-26 at its renowned University School of Financial Studies (USFS). The school, one of the oldest and most reputed departments within the university, offers specialised undergraduate and postgraduate programmes focusing on finance, commerce, and data analytics with an emphasis on industry readiness and research-led education.
The flagship MBA (Financial Analytics) programme, developed in collaboration with the NSE Academy, aims to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world financial industry practices. This two-year course covers advanced modules including time series analysis and forecasting, technical analysis, financial analytics using Python, Big Data Analytics and experiential learning in stock markets. Students completing the course will be awarded a dual qualification – an MBA degree from GNDU and a postgraduate certificate from NSE Academy.
The M.Com (Data Analytics) – Five Year Integrated Programme (FYIP) is gaining traction for its multidisciplinary curriculum. The programme equips students with advanced skills in Python, Power BI, Tableau, and data mining, while providing a strong foundation in commerce and financial systems. It offers flexible exit points after three or four years with corresponding degrees.
In addition, the USFS offers traditional programmes such as the two-year M.Com, MBA (Finance), and integrated M.Com and MBA courses. Admission to all programmes will be strictly based on merit as determined by entrance examinations conducted by the university. The application window opened on May 8 and will close on July 11 for most courses. Entrance tests are scheduled between June 22 and July 18.

GNDU, accredited with an A++ grade by NAAC and holding Category-I status, is the only university in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh with this distinction. The University School of Financial Studies features state-of-the-art infrastructure, including a Virtual Corporate Interaction Lab, dedicated research facilities, and seminar halls. It also maintains active international collaborations, notably with Olds College of Agriculture & Technology in Canada.
The department boasts a strong placement record, with recruiters such as HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, and Accenture regularly hiring graduates.
