GNDU Students visited Drug Deaddiction Foundation

The Department of Human Genetics of Guru Nanak Dev University under the aegis of the Society of Human Genetics and the Drug Addiction Awareness Committee of the department arranged for a team of ten students to visit the Amrit Drug Deaddiction research Foundation, Amritsar.

Dr. Jaswinder Singh, who is associated with this foundation, held a dummy counseling session and demonstrated to students on how to advise addicts and help them in dealing with the craving. The students got an opportunity to interact with a patient who is taking reqular sessions with Dr. Jaswinder Singh. The students were very enthusiastic and are keen on learning various techniques used in the rehabilitation of drug addicts.

In the mean time, the Department also celebrated the ‘National Unity Day’ to mark the birth anniversary of Late Sardar Vallabhai Patel. On this occasion, teaching faculty, non teaching staff and student’s tool pledge to commit themselves to preserve the unity of the nation. similarly, the National Unity Day was also celebrated by the Department of  Deputy Registrar General of the University. In this the teaching faculty, non teaching staff and students assembled and were informed the relevance of the Unity Day. The house took the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge to commit themselves to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation.
