District & Sessions Judge and Deputy Commissioner, Rupnagar conducts joint inspection of District Jail

District & Sessions Judge, Rupnagar Ramesh Kumari along with Deputy Commissioner, Rupnagar Himanshu Jain conducted joint inspection of District Jail, Rupnagar.
At this juncture, District & Sessions Judge, Rupnagar was accompanied by ACJM, Ashish Thathai, DLSA Secretary, Himanshi Galhotra, CJM, SukhwinderSingh, JMIC Dr. Seema Agnihotri, ADC (RD) Ms. Chander Jyoti Singh, Rupnagar, Navneet Singh, Superintendent of Police (PBI), DPRO Karan Mehta, Jail Superintendent, Lalit Kumar Kohli, Deputy Jail Superintendent
Anil Bhandari, Deputy Chief LADC Ashish Kumar remained present on the spot.
They thoroughly checked the District Jail, Hospital and Kitchen and heard the grievances of prisoners.
Deputy Commissioner, Rupnagar assured the jail inmates regarding expeditious disposal of parole applications. While checking Observation Room No. 2, inmates requested for installation of exhaust fan. Jail Superintendent informed that in the coming week, Rotary Club shall be providing 3 exhaust fans which shall be installed at the required places in the jail.
Jail life often leads to depression and has negative impact on the minds of the jail inmates. Hence, cultural events were organized to distract the concentration of the inmates from the atmosphere inside the jail and to reform and encourage them to lead a positive way of life.
District & Sessions Judge and Deputy Commissioner, Rupnagar conducts joint inspection of District Jail. In the female barrack, inmates performed Giddha and expressed their gratitude to the jail administration for giving them a chance for looking at the bright prospect of life.
While male inmates held a tug of warsport competition. While addressing the jail inmates, Ld. District & Sessions Judge inspired them about the importance of life and sensitized them in regard to the facility of free legal aid.
She also informed that bail application could be moved with the Secretary, DLSA,LADC Lawyers, Jail PLV who are present inside the jail.
While Deputy Commissioner, Rupnagar assured them for early resolution of their grievances. For the positive mental health of Jail inmates, a 6 months Yoga Programme was already started inside the jail premises by the efforts of CJM-cum-Secretary, DLSA, Rupnagar Himanshi Galhotra, further informed that in the coming month, some vocational training programmes for raising self-sufficiency among the jail inmates shall also be started inside the jail.
