Good news for Cricket Enthusiasts -Modern School opens top class cricket coaching for all students of Patiala

First co-ed school after India’s Independence in Patiala, Modern Senior Secondary School has added another feather in its cap. From 1st June 2023 the school has started a top-class cricket coaching facility for both boys and girls (from the ages of 5 to 25 years), for both Modern Senior Secondary School, Patiala students, its alumni, and for all cricket enthusiasts in Patiala (regardless of which school/college etc they may be in. In short, the cricket coaching facility is open to all boys and girls in Patiala from the ages of 5 to 25 years.
As per the spokesperson of Modern Senior Secondary School, Patiala “the coaching classes will take place every evening form 03:30pm onwards on the Modern School grounds, G. D. N. S. Road (near Gurudwara DukhNiwaran Sahib)”.
Renowned coach Amandeep Singh and his team of NIS qualified coaches will train players in Batting, Bowling, Fielding, and Wicket Keeping, with the aim that the players (even beginners), with hard-work, regularity and passion, will be able to compete in inter-school level, state level and inter-state level competitions in the very near future. It is with the idea, that on average, at least once a week (usually on Sundays) matches will be fixed with other teams from different schools in Patiala, Punjab or other states.
Spokesperson added “we are happy to announce that Modern School Cricket Coaching has created 4 types of cricket pitches in its ground:
- One Turf Pitch – this is made from Black Soil and is used for International Cricket Matches. Now, our Modern School grounds has one international standard cricket playing pitch!
- One Astro-Turf Pitch – this is made from a special synthetic flooring.
- We also have two hard pitches – one is a cemented pitch (for fast bowling) and one is a special stone pitch.
To take care of the players, a physical coach and medical staff will be in the premises at all times. For the convenience of budding players, both evening and night sessions are available from 03:30pm to 06:30pm Evening Session 06:30pm to 08:30pm Night Session (Powered by LED lights) in the Summers. The Winter Timings will be from 03:00pm to 06:00pm Evening Session 06:00pm to 07:30pm Night Session (Powered by LED lights)
