Good news for Punjabi girls; C-PYTE camp to be open exclusively for girls at Theh Kanjla

Giving wings to dreams of Punjab girls who aspire to join armed forces as envisioned by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab Government has decided to open a Centre for Training and Employment of Punjab Youth (C-PYTE) camp exclusively for girls at Kapurthala. The camp will be run entirely by women staff.
This decision was taken in 33rd meeting of the Executive Board of C-PYTE chaired by Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Aman Arora.
Aman Arora said that the existing C-PYTE Camp at Theh Kanjla in Kapurthala district will be converted into a girl’s camp, where they will be trained to join the Armed Forces, the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and Punjab Police. Earlier, the C-PYTE camp used to only conduct training of boys.
He informed that C-PYTE will also conduct Service Selection Board (SSB) training for the youth of Punjab, who clear the NDA or CDS written exam to join the Armed Forces as officers.
The Cabinet Minister further informed that it has also been decided to train the youth in Security and Fire-fighting, besides, conducting an Armed Security Training. Apart from this, Driving Training, JCB/Poclain operating and Drone operating Training will also be initiated at C-PYTE camps in the state.
Principal Secretary Employment Generation, Skill Development & Training Jaspreet Talwar, Director Amrit Singh, Director General C-PYTE Major General (Retd.) Rambir Singh Mann and senior officials from other departments was also present in the meeting.
