Government Bikram College organized Gurmat Samagam on 350th Years of Martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji

The Staff and students of Government Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala under the guidance of College Principal Prof (Dr)Kusum Lata solemnly observed the 350th Martyrdom Day (Shaheedi Diwas) of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji with great devotion and respect in the campus on 19 November 2025.The event was organized as a Gurmat Samagam to honour the unparalleled sacrifice of the Ninth Sikh Guru, who laid down his life for the protection of religious freedom and human rights.

The programme commenced with students performing Gurbani Kirtan, creating a spiritual atmosphere .To promote Punjabi language and cultural heritage, a Punjabi Handwriting Competition was conducted. Jaspreet kaur (B.Com 2 ),Inderpreet Singh (B.Com 1 C)and Manmeet Kaur (B.Com 1 E) stood First ,Second and third respectively Additionally, a Turban-Tying Competition was held, where students showcased traditional Sikh turban styles with enthusiasm and skill.All the students who participated in turban tying Competition were honoured

Both students and staff participated wholeheartedly in the event, making it a memorable occasion. A langar of tea and eatables was served at the conclusion of the programme.

The entire event was successfully organized by  Collective efforts of Dr. Jaspreet, Dr. Paramjit, Dr.Amrinder ,Dr. Harsimran , and Prof. Yadwinder Singh,   Who ensured the smooth conduct of the celebrations.

The institution paid glowing tributes to Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji and reaffirmed its commitment to spreading his message of courage, sacrifice, and universal brotherhood.
