The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Dept of Commerce, Govt. Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala organized a lecture under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Kusum Lata. The topic of the lecture was Financial Literacy. The Resource Person was Dr. Harpreet Kaur Kohli Asst. prof in Dept of DE and presently working as coordinator of Intenal Audit, Punjabi University, Patiala. The program aims at spreading awareness about managing money effectively – budgeting, Saving, Borrowing and Investing. The teachers and the students were provided awareness about effective management of money and debt. The Knowledge and skills to manage finance resources effectively for a lifetime of financial well being was grasped through this lecture. The Lecture was useful in making the students understand the basic concepts of real life financing decisions. Dr. Vaneeta Rani (HOD Commerce) coordinate the program.

Govt Bikram College organized awareness programs for students . The HEIS and the Computer Dept organised a one day seminar on Cyber Attack and Cyber Terrorism. Inspector Tarandeep kaur (Incharge Woman Help Desk) provided valuable information to the students about the type of cyber crimes prevalent in the society today. The official website (cybercrime.gov.in) provided by the Govt. of India was shared with the students. Information about cyber help desk 24×7 available at SSP office, Patiala was shared with the students.

Govt Bikram College organized awareness programs for students

An awareness program on prevailing social evils as a series of programs to be held under ‘National Gender Campaign’ to stop violence against women and child as directed by Varun Sharma (SSP Patiala) was held. The information was provided by Inspector Pushpa Devi (Incharge Road Safety and Traffic Rules). The program aimed at providing information about Road Safety measures, Cyber attacks, Environment Pollution, ill effects of Drug abuse, PMM (Police Mahila Mittar) to the students. Information about easy process of making driving license online was given to the students. The students were suggested to download ‘Shakti’ App in order to save themselves in any kind of emergency condition. A Pledge to abide by the traffic rules and to save lives of others was taken by the staff and the students. Dr. Vaneeta Rani Presented a vote of Thanks. About 300 students participated in this program. The others present were Dr. Paramjit Kaur, Dr. Reetu Kapoor, Dr. Rekha Rani, Satinder Kaur,  Kavita, Dr. Tarandeep Kaur and HEIS Staff.
