Govt Medical College made women day a memorable one-planted trees-PSMDTA

Under the patronage of senior most women faculty and professor Anatomy department Dr. Subash Kaushal, Punjab State Medical & Dental Teachers Association Patiala Unit celebrated International Women Day by plantation of one hundred samplings in Government Medical College Patiala.

Apart from college Principal Dr. Rajan Singla, Vice Principal Dr. RPS Sibia, Dental College Principal Dr. Renu Bala Sroa, Medical Superintendent Rajindra Hospital Dr. Harnam Singh Rekhi, Deputy Finance and accounts officer Babita Goyal, superintendent madam Sheela Sethi, female faculty, president Dr. Vijay Bodal, female ministerial and paramedical staff, office bearers of the association and girl medical students participated in the plantation programme.

Appreciating the efforts by the association for plantation drive, Dr. Subash Kaushal said the women have a great role right from clean home and society to green environment. Congratulating the participants and with good wishes, Dr. Rajan Singla said it should be the joint responsibility of all the doctors, staff and the medical students to keep the college clean and green for good ambience in the campus.

Appreciating the efforts of the association for tree plantation, Dental College Principal said the doctors must play a proactive role to ensure dignity and respect for women in society. With best wishes on the day, medical superintendent Dr. Rekhi assured supply of sufficient plants and trees for maintaining greenery all over in the college and Rajindra Hospital.

Association president Dr. DS Bhullar said tree plantation in the campus this year is totally dedicated to the women and it is hoped the each women doctor and staff working in medical college including medical girl students, will take responsibility and ensure care of at least one plant with active participating to keep the college campus clean and green.
