Govt Mohindra College students industrial visit to NFL, Nangal

Govt. Mohindra College, Patiala Department of Chemistry organized an Industrial visit to well esteemed, NFL (National Fertilizers Limited) unit Nangal with the students of M.Sc. Chemistry and B.Sc. Non-Medical Students on 27 February 2024 .
NFL Nangal unit produce around 5Lakh MT urea annually in addition to various types of industrial products like sodium nitrate, sodium nitrite, nitric acid. Nangal plant is one of the oldest fertilizer plant in country.
During the visit the students took keen interest in production operations and also interacted with the employees. Students visited interpretation centre of Model Room, Urea Plant, packaging and Bagging plant, production unit etc. of the factory and got knowledge provided by the HR Dept. of NFL Nangal.
Students learnt and improved practical aspects of subjects like mechanical operations, heat transfer, mass transfer, reaction engineering. Totally, 40 students from B.Sc/M.Sc. chemistry were benefited by this industrial visit. The staff of the plant (Raghubir Singh(Guide), Ajit(PRO), Parth Nath assistant manager production) was very co-operative and the visit to plant was very beneficial for the students apart from their academic knowledge, this visit helped in enhancing their practical knowledge.
The visit was organized under the learned supervision of Associate Prof.Rachna Bhardwaj, (HoD, Chemistry Dept.), Prof. Ashu Kiran, Dr. Jaswinder sidhu, Prof. Jatinderpal Kaur Principal Amarjit Singh congratulated the students for the visit and further appreciated the efforts of the department for organising the visit.
