Govt nominates 3 members for Punjabi University Syndicate

Punjab Government has renominated three members from different fields for the syndicate body of Punjabi University.
Chancellor of the university and Governor of Punjab VP Badnore, cleared the file, forwarded by the Chief Minister with his recommendation.
The members include Dr Nar Bahadur Verma a Co-chairman RTI-Cell, Punjab Pradesh Congress committee and has served congress party on different posts in the past. Dr KD Singh, former Principal, Government Medical College, Patiala and Harinder Pal Singh Mann were re appointed as syndicate members, for the period of one year.
Dr Verma is a prominent social figure of Patiala and has been associated with a number of social and voluntary organizations from two decades.
Harinderpal Singh Mann (Harry Mann) who contested from Sanour as Congress nominee and former Information Commissioner The syndicate body is chaired by Punjabi University Vice-Chancellor Professor Arvind.
The syndicate is a supreme body of the University. In this three members were nominated by the govt.,three members were elected by the senate from its members, three members were from the colleges-principals affiliated with Punjabi University , Secy Education Punjab, DPI,Director languages department Punjab, dean academic affairs, dean students welfare etc. The syndicate is headed by the Vice Chancellor of the university who is the chairman of the syndicate.
