Green Diwali celebrated by SSD Girls College by organising “Zero Plastic Skill and Entrepreneurship Mela”

Shri Sanatan Dharam Girls College, Bathinda in association with National Edu. Trust of India celebrated ‘Green Diwali’ under the theme “Zero Plastic Skill and Entrepreneurship Mela” to promote environmental sustainability and foster youth innovation.
The event organized by Entrepreneurship Development Cell and NSS Units of the College aimed to raise awareness about eliminating plastic usage by showcasing the creativity and entrepreneurial skills of students.
A vibrant and engaging food corner and art corner were displayed. The food corner showcased a variety of delicious hygienically prepared dishes made by students. The art corner was a visual delight displaying beautiful paintings, eco friendly decorative items, diyas, candles and laddu gopal dresses.
Students expressed their ideas on sustainability through their arts showing immense talent and originality. Various competitions were organised in which around 70 students from different streams participated .
In flower rangoli competition Yashika( BSc CSM3)bagged first position, Khushbu ( BA 3) got 2nd and Radhika (B.Com 1) got 3rd position. In Eco friendly Art and Craft khushi(BA 1) got 1st prize, Bhumika Sharma( BA2) & Manpreet Kaur ( BA 2) got 2nd position and Jashanpreet kaur (BSc Non Medical 1) got 3rd prize. In food corner Aahna (BA 3) got 1st prize ,Sneha (BA 3) got 2nd position and Avneet kaur BA 2 got 3rd prize. In Best out of Waste category Sneha ( BBA 1) bagged 1st prize, Anju Rani( BCom 1)& Mannat Singla ( BA 3) got 2nd position and Mehak (BA 1) got third position.
All the students enjoyed the diwali fest. Apart from these, plants were also distributed among students to spread the message of celebrating Green Diwali . Diwali gifts were distributed among teaching and non-teaching staff by College Management. Sweets and diyas were distributed among forth class employees to showcase joy of happiness.
College president Adv. Sanjay Goyal, General Secretary Vikas Garg alongwith other management members Yashwant Singla , Ajay Gupta , CA Sandeep Kumar and Anil Bhola graced the occasion with their benign presence. College Principal Dr Neeru Garg appreciated the efforts of EDP cell incharges and congratulated the prize winners.
