Guest lecture on Short Film-making organised by Photography club of Government Mohindra College Patiala

The photography club of Government Mohindra College, Patiala, organised a Seminar on Short Film Making. The Resource person, Reena Kaur Dhillon, owner of RK Productions, is the winner of the International Socio-Legal Film Making Competition 2023 for the Aapki Bari film. She also won the Best Film award in Special Category for the film ‘You Are Special’, conducted by ISR Ventures, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She bagged the Best Film Award in the Drama Category for our film ‘Tohfa’ at the Indie Shorts Film Festival. The film is based on the importance of Child Education. Her Films ‘Chhota Sardar’ and ‘Aazadi’ were screened at the Maa Boli International Punjabi Film Festival held in Canada.
Reena Kaur Dhillon taught the students all the fine nuances of short film-making from the Stages of- pre-production, and production to post-production. She shared her experiences of film-making and the competitions that she participated in. The students learned all about what to avoid and what to focus on while making short films ranging from 30 seconds to 50 minutes duration. All the technicalities of an award-winning short film were elaborated upon by the resource person. She gave examples and showed slides and movie clips to illustrate her points. Prof. Loveleen Parmar presented the report on previous year’s activities of the photography club.
The Principal, Amarjit Singh gave his best wishes to the students and organisers of the Seminar. He opined that such programs always boosted the morale of the students of Government Mohindra College, Patiala. The deserving students of the club were honoured with mementos on the occasion. This helps in boosting the morale of all members and participants of the club to strive for more, to learn more and to achieve further milestones.
