Patiala sacrilege incident accused killed in police custody

A sacrilege incident, first of its kind has once again rocked Punjab. This time a lady drinking liquor is found inside the gurudwara sahib premises.
“On Sunday evening a lady entered Gurudwara Dukhniwaran sahib at Patiala and sat near the sarovar . Their she start consuming the liquor. The devotees informed the lady sewadar on duty. The lady sewadar immediately asked her to stop drinking inside the gurudwara as it’s a religious place and such things are not allowed. The lady became aggressive and starts abusing the sewadar. In between another gurudwara employee and the sangat (devotees) raised objection over her behaviour and what she was doing inside the gurudwara sahib. The infuriated lady broke the liquor bottle and attacked the gurudwara sahib employee. The sangat (devotees) and the other sewadars, employees of the gurudwara sahib controlled her and brought her to the office of the manager, gurudwara dukniwaran sahib situated near the parking, outside the sanctum sanatorium. Then the SGPC staff called up the Anaj Mandi police station and informed the whole incident. In between the SGPC staff asked her who is she? From where she has come? Why she has done this ? Who else are involved in this crime with her? . But she didn’t gave satisfactory replies to any questions. The police came and we handed over her to the police. When the police was taking her to the police station from the gurudwara dukhniwaran sahib manager’s office, at the porch area a person came and fired 5-6 bullets at her. She died on the spot and another devotee Sagar was injured with a bullet injury. We shifted the injured devotee immediately to the hospital” said a Gurudwara Sahib employee.

When contacted the SHO Anaj Mandi, inspector Amandeep Singh, he said “the police team reached in time after receiving the call from the gurudwara sahib office . The accused lady was with his police station staff when the accused fired at her. Our team was taking her the police station from the gurudwara sahib. We immediately arrested the accused who fired at her.”
“Like earlier incidents, once again the motive behind this sacrilege incident, who are involved, who are doing these incidents will remain unsolved as the accused is killed in a fit of rage. Had the accused lady remained alive, many question would have been answered’ said Gagandeep Kaur, a devotee.
