Guru Nanak Dev University Inaugurates Science Week Festival 2022

Department of Physics, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar under the able guidance and leadership of Prof (Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu, worthy Vice-Chancellor, GNDU is hosting a Science Week Festival “Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate” being held from 22nd February to 28th February 2022. The event is supported by the state nodal agency Punjab State Council for Science and Technology and Vigyan Prasar within its flagship program SCoPE “Science & Technology Communication, Popularization & its Extension” under the aegis of Ministry of Culture and Office of the PSA, Government of India.

The inauguration ceremony took place on 22nd  February, 2022 at Guru Nanak Bhawan, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. The inauguration began with lamp lighting accompanied by a warm welcome note by Dr. Bindiya Arora, local Coordinator of Science Week festival. The event witnessed participation from over 400 students and teachers from various places in Punjab. Prof. Hardeep Singh, Dean Academic Affairs welcomed the Chief Guest, Prof. Dinesh Singh, Padam Shri awardee and Chancellor, K.R. Mangalam University.

Guru Nanak Dev University Inaugurates Science Week Festival 2022. Prof. Singh emphasized on the need for the Interdisciplinary study of all science fields. While delivering the inaugural lecture, Prof. Dinesh Singh took the audience to the journey of contributions from Indian Scientists towards Science and Technology. He motivated the students to believe in themselves and develop a scientific temperament.

The inaugural day celebrations were coordinated under the able guidance and supervision of Prof. D.P Singh (HOD Physics), Dr. Aman Mahajan (Co Convener) and Yatin Batra (Event Manager) which included Science Book Fair, Science Exposition, Vigyan Safari, Photo Booth and Science Film Screening. Prof. B.S. Bajwa, Dean Placements; Prof. R.C. Singh, Honorary Professor; Prof. K.J. Singh; Dr. Anupinder Singh; Dr. Parambir S. Malhi and Dr. Balbir Singh were also present to grace the event. Dr. Arora thanked the dignitaries present there. “The week-long festival will include competitions based on themes related to science and technology to develop a healthy scientific rational temperament in the younger generation. Students of various eminent institutions of Punjab will be exposed to the growing advancements and developments in the domain of Science and Technology” said Dr. Bindiya Arora
