Guru Nanak Dev University organized 10km CYCLOTHON 2022

To be fit and healthy we need to be physically active and riding bicycle regularly is one of the best way to reduce risk of health problems associated with a inactive lifestyle. For this, to promote cycle culture in our routine life, Guru Nanak Dev University organized 10km cyclothon under the patronage of Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu and Dean Students’ Welfare, Prof. Anish K Dua in association with MYAS GNDU Department of Sports Sciences and Medicine, Fitness Club of the University. This cyclothon was organized in the University Campus in which Eighty cyclists participated.
While flagging off the Cyclothon, Prof. Anish Dua said that the activity offers both physical and mental health benefits and we lead a longer and healthier life. He said that the University is committed for well being of students of the University as well as environment.
Around 80 participants took part and 6 winners (3 in each male and female category) were chosen. 40 Volunteers from the department itself provided their services in Medical team, surveillance team and the Media team with the help of the Security Department.
The event was planned and organised under the guidance of Fitness club mentors Dr Amrinder Singh and Srinivasa Rao Pachava by the student coordinators Snober Rupal, Aditi Patkar and Ashutosh Singh.
