Guru Nanak Foundation School commemorated 550th year of Guru Nanak Dev Ji

To commemorate 550th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji, Guru Nanak Foundation Public School, Patiala, organised a “Gurmat Samagam” on 23rd October, 2019 in the school premises. Japji Sahib path was recited together by the school students and teachers collectively in the Deewan under the divine blessings of SHRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI.
The students of the school participated in poetry recitation, lectures,’ shabad vayakhya’, Sakhis on the life and teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Active participation of the students from the Junior wing of the school was highly appreciated by the Sangat.
Parkash Sewa of SHRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI was performed with the recitation of “Sawaiye” by the students while small children wore the uniform of PANJ PAYARAS .The students spoke on ‘Siddh Gosht’ and ‘Arti ‘and expressed their gratitude to SAHIB SHRI GURU NANAK DEV JI. The whole atmosphere was blissful with the enchanting voices of the students and teachers during the shabad gayan and WAHEGURU SIMRAN.
It is worth mentioning that the whole SAMAGAM was Organised by the students under the guidance of the teachers.Besides the students, teachers and their families, the Samagam was attended by many distinguished personalities from the Patiala city.
During the Samagam ,TANISHBIR KAUR, our International Boxing Champion, who has brought laurels to the nation, the state, especially the city of Patiala, and the school by winning a gold medal in Junior Asian Boxing Championship held in U.A.E. was also honoured. She was awarded with THE PANTH RATTAN Dr. Inderjit Singh Memorial Trophy, the highest award in the school given to the students with exemplary achievements, and a shawl by Partap Singh, Director, Guru Nanak Foundation, New Delhi and the Principal Renu Hanspal. Santosh Dutta, Joint Secretary of Boxing Federation of India, DSO Harpreet Singh, Anudeep, Tanishbir’s boxing coach and the parents of Tanishbir were also honoured with a shawl during the event. Partap Singh , Director Guru Nanak Foundation, New Delhi addressed the sangat .The Samagam concluded with the recitation of Path Shri Anand Sahib, Ardaas and Hukamnama.
Kawaljeet Kaur, the School Coordinator formally thanked the whole Sangat for their presence and at the end Guru Ka Langar was served.
