The teachings of the first Sikh Guru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji were reminisced in the special assembly conducted by the Tulip House at Police DAV Public School, Patiala, today in order to mark his birth anniversary. Harkiran of class VIII highlighted Guru Nanak Dev ji’s life span and turning points of his life in her speech. The spiritual lamp was lighted by the school Principal, Ms.Meena Thapar and floral tributes were paid to the Sikh Guru. Ashween Kaur and Dpinder Singh of Class IX recited Shabads in their melodious voices and made the whole ambience enchanting. Navjot of class VI asked some G.K questions related to the legendary Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
The school Principal, Meena Thapar addressed the gathering and greeted everyone on the occasion. She further asked the students to inculcate the teachings and principles of Guru Nanak in their lives for a peaceful and prosperous life. She spoke a few lines written in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji for Guru Nanak Dev Ji and explained the meaning to the students. She added that following his moral values only can save us in today’s world.
She explained about the ill practices functioning in today’s scenario such as corruption jealously, etc. The staff and the students took an oath to keep India free from all evils and stop all these practices to their level best in order to mark vigilance week observed by the Government.
