Punjab education minister Harjot Bains and Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema today visited Sri Anandpur Sahib Assembly Constituency to review the progress of major bridge construction projects near the Sawan River, being executed at a total cost of Rs. 100 crore.

These bridges are aimed at strengthening regional connectivity and ensuring smooth movement for commuters, farmers, traders, and pilgrims.During the inspection, Harjot Bains assessed the quality and pace of construction and interacted with concerned officials.

Expressing satisfaction with the ongoing work, Harpal Singh Cheema stated that the demand for improved infrastructure in this region was raised in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, and under the leadership of Chief Minister  Bhagwant Mann, the issue was resolved on priority. He emphasized that the Punjab Government is committed to timely completion of infrastructure projects with full transparency and quality assurance. Once completed, these bridges will reduce travel time, enhance road safety, and contribute significantly to the economic and social development of the area.

Punjab Education Minister  Harjot Singh Bains announced the construction of a good quality road from Village Khera, Tehsil Nangal, to Shri Khuralgarh Sahib, the revered Tap Asthan of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.50 crore. The project aims to provide better and safer road connectivity for pilgrims visiting the holy site.

Harjot Singh Bains said that improving access to religious and cultural heritage places is a key priority of the state government. The new road will ensure smooth movement for devotees, especially during religious gatherings, and will also benefit local residents by improving everyday connectivity.

During the visit, Harjot Singh Bains accompanied Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema in reviewing the bridge projects near the Sawan River. Both ministers expressed satisfaction with the progress of the works and reaffirmed that the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government is delivering development projects efficiently and responsibly. They stated that infrastructure initiatives undertaken by the government reflect its commitment to inclusive development, improved connectivity, and enhanced public convenience across Punjab.

Finance Minister Harpal singh cheema stated that during flood season, he and  Bains visited the area and that time, Harjot Bains declared these projects of crores. Now the work is speedily underway and will be completed in time.
