Haryana CM dedicated ‘Atal Cancer Care Center’ at Ambala Cantonment to the public

Haryana Chief Minister,  Manohar Lal’s vision of providing the best health services to the common man was realized after the newly constructed ‘Atal Cancer Care Center’ at Ambala Cantonment was dedicated to the public today.

Chief Minister along with BJP National President,  J.P Nadda formally inaugurated the Centre at a function which was attended by Home Minister  Anil Vij, MP,  Rattan Lal Kataria, State Cabinet Ministers and other dignitaries.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that today is a proud day for Haryana as they have got one of the biggest health gifts. Cancer patients coming to this Centre would be treated with the help of latest equipments, he added.

The Chief Minister said that the Centre as well as the State Government have taken several health initiatives for the citizens. A cancer hospital, AIIMS is being constructed at Bhadsa village in Jhajjar.

Praising the Manohar Lal led State Government, BJP National President,  J.P Nadda said that with the help of IT reforms, Haryana Government has curbed corruption and the State has become an example for the other states of the country in the terms of taking digital initiatives.

Cancer Care Centre to prove a boon for patients coming from Haryana as well as neighbouring states

Manohar Lal said that about 28000 cancer patients visit Haryana every year and with the opening of this Cancer Care Centre, the patients will get the disease treatment with the latest machines and their lives can be saved.

The ‘Atal Cancer Care Centre’ set up at the Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantonment will help in getting accessible, affordable and comprehensive treatment to cancer patients not only from Haryana but also from neighbouring states like Punjab, Himachal and Uttarakhand etc. The present State Government is working on the Mantra of ‘Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah’, said  Manohar Lal.

Hostel to be built for attendants visiting this Cancer Care Centre

The Chief Minister said that along with this state-of-the-art Cancer Care Centre, a hostel having a capacity of 100 people would also be built for the convenience of the attendants accompanying the patients so that they do not face any kind of trouble.

Manohar Lal announced that only two machines with the world’s latest technology Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scan and Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) scan costing Rs.34 crore would also be installed in this Centre.

Cancer, Thalassaemia, Haemophilia patients to get a monthly pension

The Chief Minister announced that a monthly pension would be given to the patients suffering from Stage III and IV Cancer, Thalassaemia, Haemophilia. The State Government is already giving pension to AIDS patients.

Every district to have one Medical college by 2025

The Chief Minister said that cancer treatment would be made free under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, under which the treatment cost of up to Rs. 5 lakh would be borne by the State Government. He said that soon this newly opened Atal Cancer Care Centre would be included in the list of Ayushman Bharat Yojana.

The Chief Minister said that from health perspective dedicated steps are being taken by the State Government. Recruitment of specialized doctors along with strengthening the health infrastructures is being ensured. Besides this, the State Government has also set a target of opening one medical college in every district by 2025, he added.

He said that the present State Government has increased MBBS seats and in the future also these seats will be increased to meet the shortage of doctors. Soon the condition of one doctor above the population of 1000 will be achieved in the State, said  Manohar Lal.

The Chief Minister said that dedicated efforts are being made to ensure every family gets state-of-the-art health facilities. Many schemes have been implemented for poor families and efforts are being made to make them self-reliant, added  Manohar Lal.

Later addressing the gathering, after the inaugural ceremony BJP National President,  J.P Nadda said that to have inaugurated this Cancer Care Center in Ambala was very important for him.

He said that Chief Minister  Manohar Lal and Health Minister,  Anil Vij deserve congratulations for setting up North India’s biggest Cancer Care Centre in Ambala. After its construction, now advanced cancer treatment with the latest machines has been made possible under one roof. This Centre is equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities in North India after PGI Chandigarh, which will also benefit the nearby states. The government aims to detect cancer at an early stage said  J.P Nadda.

Praising the Chief Minister,  J.P Nadda said that the schemes implemented by  Manohar Lal are commendable.  J.P Nadda said that 80 crore people are getting free ration under the leadership of Prime Minister,  Narendra Modi. Farmers are being given benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi.

He said that the Haryana Government by giving Rs. 4000 as a top-up amount under this scheme is giving Rs. 10,000 to the farmers. Around 1147 Health Wellness Centres have been set up in Haryana. Haryana has also become self-sufficient in terms of oxygen stock, said  J.P. Nadda.

Notably, an amount of Rs 72.127 crore has been spent on ‘Atal Cancer Care Centre’. Rs. 43.98 crore has been spent on modern equipment and Rs 28.18 crore on building and services. Other facilities including Radiotherapist, Medical Physicist, RTT etc have also been made available in this Centre.

Various specialized posts (Surgical, Medical and Radiation Oncologist, Radiation Physicist cum RSO, Radiation Therapy Technologist) and HR posts have been created in this Centre. Besides this, OPD, IPD, Palliative care services are provided to cancer patients. Mammography Unit has been started. Latest equipment like Linear Accelerator, Brachytherapy Unit, CT Simulator, etc. have been installed in this Centre which are not available even in PGIMS Rohtak.
