As per available information, the advocate general of Punjab Gurminder Singh has resigned from the post. As per sources, he has tendered his resignation to the government .
His team has already resigned and are working on “till further order” mode.In February 2025, all 220 law officers in Chandigarh and 35 in Delhi have resigned from their posts who are on the Punjab government’s payroll had submitted their resignation, after being asked to do so by the Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party dispensation.
At that time Advocate General Gurminder Singh had said that “for the time being they will continue at the post till the entire (AG) office is restructured.”

As per sources Akshay Bhan, Puneet Bali, APS Deol, Anu Chatrath are in the race for new AG, Punjab.
