Today, former Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee presidents and old warhorse of congress Lal Singh, Samsher Singh Dullo, Mohinder Singh Kaypee along with former MLA Navtej Singh Cheema came to Patiala to meet the former Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Navjot Singh Sidhu, who is presently undergoing a one year sentence in a road rage case.
Mohinder Singh Kaypee former Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president said “we,three former PPCC presidents came here to meet our leader and another former PPCC president Navjot Singh Sidhu to meet him in jail.”
When questioned Kaypee about got some directions from the party high command or All India congress Committee (AICC) authorities to meet Navjot Singh Sidhu( as he is going to be released from jail on January 26 this year), he said “No. We, former presidents came here at our own level as we decided to meet him (Sidhu), due to the prevalent political scenario in the state.”
Kaypee added that “the present political scenario in Punjab is in doldrums, especially after the aam admi party (AAP) formed its government in Punjab. The voters are now feeling dejected. So, we as congress party leaders have decided to get united for the sake of Punjab voters. “

Former PPCC president Mohinder Singh Kaypee further added that “as Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra is about to enter in Punjab, we are meeting, preparing, planning for yatra’s grand reception in Punjab.”
On Sidhu’s release from jail on January 26,2023 Kaypee said “ i am going inside the jail and we will discuss and plan accordingly. Congress worker is anxiously waiting for his release and is planning a grand reception of him after his release from jail.”
On the other hand Lal Singh, former PPCC president said ” we are coming directly here (at Central Jail, Patiala) from Chandigarh after attending the “Bharat Jodo Yatra”.
On change of guard in Punjab pradesh congress committee presidentship after the release of Navjot Singh Sidhu from the jail, Kaypee said “ it’s a prerogative of the party high command to take decision on this matter. Presently Raja Warring is the PPCC president also appointed by the party high command .”
All set for Sidhu’s early release from jail; to be a free bird on January 26
