IEI Bathinda Local Centre Celebrated World Telecommunication and Information Society Day at Aryabhatta Group of Institutes, Barnala

The Institution of Engineers (India), Bathinda Local Centre, in association with Aryabhatta Group of Institutes, Barnala, organized a special event on the occasion of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day on the theme “Digital Lifelines: Strengthening Resilience in a Connected World” at the campus of Aryabhatta Group of Institutes, Barnala.

The programme was organized to highlight the importance of digital communication technologies in strengthening global connectivity, resilience, and sustainable development in today’s rapidly evolving world.

Dr. Labh Singh, Former Advisor, Department of Telecommunications, Government of India and Ex-Chairman, Punjab & Chandigarh State Centre, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Er. Rakesh Kumar Gupta, Chairman, Aryabhatta Group of Institutes, Barnala, and Prof. (Dr.) Ajaypal Singh, Head of Department (ECE), SLIET Longowal, attended the event as Guests of Honour. Dr. Ajay Mittal, Director, Aryabhatta Group of Institutes, also remained present during the programme.

The dignitaries emphasized the growing role of telecommunication and digital technologies in education, healthcare, disaster management, governance, and economic growth. They encouraged students and faculty members to actively contribute towards technological innovation and digital empowerment.

Prof. (Dr.) Jagpal Singh Ubhi, Chairman, IEI Bathinda Local Centre, welcomed the guests and highlighted the objectives of celebrating World Telecommunication and Information Society Day.

Er. Jaspreet Kaur Bajwa, Assistant Professor, Aryabhatta College, proposed the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, students, and organizers for making the event successful.

Er. Navdeep Bansal, member of the organizing team, played an active role in the successful coordination of the programme.

A large number of academicians, engineers, professionals, and students participated enthusiastically in the programme.
