IIT Ropar ranks among top 25 in NIRF rankings 2022

Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) Ropar has been ranked in top  25 among all Engineering institutes of the country as per the India Rankings 2022 conducted by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

Dhamendra Pradhan,union minister of education announced the results at New Delhi on Friday. IIT Ropar got 22nd rank .

Speaking about the rankings, Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar, said, “The Institute is scaling heights every day. Despite the pandemic after effects, IIT Ropar grabs the top 25 position in the Engineering Category and 35th in Overall Category. We at IIT Ropar believe that there is no short-cut to hard work and we all are hard workers. We have a resolution every year about making education deliverance meaningful and work for society thereby adding renowned peers in our collaborative network and add high quality publications. This ranking is the effort of every individual that is bringing collective transformation making the institute among top Institutions of the Nation and the world.”

  1. Research and Professional Practice (Score = 38.79)

Combined metric for Publications (PU), Combined metric for Quality of Publications (QP), IPR and Patents: Filed, Published, Granted and Licensed (IPR) and Footprint of Projects and Professional Practice And Executive Development Programs (FPPP)

  1. Teaching, Learning and Resources (Score=81.07)

Combined % of Student Strength including Doctoral Students (SS), Faculty-student ratio with emphasis on permanent faculty (FSR), Combined metric for Faculty with PhD (or equivalent) and Experience (FQE), Financial Resources and their Utilisation (FRU)

  1. Graduation Outcomes (Score = 68.76)

Combined % for Placement, Higher Studies, and Entrepreneurship (GPHE), Metric for University Examinations: GUE, Median Salary, Metric for Graduating Students Admitted Into Top Universities (GTOP) and Metric for Number of Ph.D. Students Graduated GPHD.

  1. Outreach and Inclusivity (OI)- (Score-63.67)

Percentage of Students from Other States/Countries (Region Diversity RD), Percentage of Women (Women Diversity WD), Economically and Socially Challenged Students (ESCS), Facilities for Physically Challenged Students (PCS)

  1. Perception (Score =  30.87)

Peer Perception: Employers and Research Investors (PREMP), Peer Perception: Academics (PRACD), Public Perception (PRPUB)and Competitiveness (PRCMP)
