The World Youth Skill Day Celebrated at Lamrin Tech Skills University

The World Youth skill day was celebrated at Lamrin Tech Skills University(LTSU),Punjab . The day is celebrated to mark the “strategic importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work and enterpreneurship .

The day provided a unique opportunity for dialogue between young people , technical and vocational education and training institutions, firms, employers and workers organizations ,policy-makers and development partners. The day was marked with a certain theme set by the United Nations,” Transforming youth skill for future” as the LTSU is focussing also on the same theme to enrich the young work force in India with skill in various domains so that they might get decent jobs in domestic market and in foreign countries as well,said Dr Sandeep Singh Kaura , Chancellor, Lamrin Tech Skills University , Punjab said while presiding over the event.

He  congratulated all the students and teacher on the world Youth Skill Day and said that skilling youth is very close to his heart because he has been  instrumental in setting robust skill eco system in Punjab and at  national level being the Adviser  skill development ..”our mission is to sharpen the skill of the youth of country as the world is looking at  India being the supplier of young work force to countries facing severe skill shortages such as   Canada ,Australia, UK, USA , European Union etc”,he said.

Kaura said  that LTSU is also coming up with specially designed skill programs based on skill shortages in countries of destination with the support of High commissions of those countries under G2G framework. Such programmes will help youth of Punjab to go to foreign countries on work visa which will reduce the outward remittances from Punjab and increase inward remittances thus supporting the economy of Punjab to grow further, he said .

The World Youth Skill Day Celebrated at Lamrin Tech Skills University. More than 500 students, teachers all over the  Punjab participated in this virtual event.
