IIT Ropar Technology and Innovation Foundation (iHub AWaDH) Shines at Social Impact Conference Awards 2024

IIT Ropar Technology and Innovation Foundation (iHub AWaDH), one of Technology Innovation Hub, established by Department of Science and Technology under framework of National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical System (NM-ICPS) at IIT Ropar, reached a significant milestone by winning two important awards at the Social Impact Conference Award 2024,organized by CSR Universe.
The Social Impact Conference, attended by notable figures such as Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, and former Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, along with Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, recognized iHub AWaDH’s outstanding contributions from a competitive pool of over 480 applications and 190 nominations.
iHub AWaDH emerged victorious in the following two categories:
- Best in Skill Development and Livelihood
This award reflects iHub AWaDH’s dedication to empowering individuals by providing skill development programs that align with industry demands. Five organizations were awarded in this category, with iHub AWaDH recognized for its exceptional efforts in fostering sustainable livelihoods. The foundation’s programs have successfully trained over 1800 individuals, positively impacting both local and national employment landscapes. By partnering with schools, colleges, and various institutions, iHub AWaDH continues to equip students with the necessary skills to thrive in the evolving job market. The award was received by Dr Radhika Trikha, CEO; Dr Shreya Sharma, R&D and Corporate Manager; and Varinder Saini, Compliance Manager.
The foundation’s achievements are further underscored by its support in the development of skills for over 1800 individuals and the establishment of 06 CPS labs across the country, enhancing its footprint in innovation and practical learning environments nationwide.
- Best in Incubators or R&D
Second award under the category of Incubator, R&D two organisation were recognised, iHub – AWaDH secured this recognition for its pioneering work in incubating over 100 startups, investing 15Cr+ in 86 of the portfolio, where 46 of these have raised over 94 Cr, and with 220+ partner, fostering innovation, and advancing cutting-edge technology solutions. The award was received by Mr Mukesh Kestwal, Chief Innovation Officer; and Mr Aatif Jamal, Sr. Manager; highlights its role in bridging the gap between academic research and real-world applications, contributing to over 90 technologies and producing more than 180 publications and IPs.. As a leading incubator, iHub AWaDH has become a hub for technological innovation, driving impactful change through its collaborations and R&D initiatives.
