The SKM-led farmers’ agitation is being suspended because the Centre has agreed to our demands. The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Thursday announced to end the year-long farmers protest at several Delhi border points.The Samkyukt Kisan Morcha today met at Delhi’s Singhu border to take a ‘formal decision’ on withdrawing the year-long protest against the farm laws. On Wednesday, it said that a consensus has been reached over a revised draft proposal of the Centre on their pending demands.

Farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal said that farmers will take out victory marches on December 11 to their homes.

During this, Gurnam Singh Chadhuni said that we will continue to review the agreements signed with the government during this movement. If the government backtracks on the promises made by it, then the movement can be started again.

The morcha was spearheading the stir since November last year at several Delhi border points against the three farm laws.

BKU leader Rakesh Tikait said that farmers will start vacating Delhi border points from December 11 and this may take some time.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Yogendra Yadav said the Centre, in its letter, has assured that “cases filed against the farmers and farm agitation supporters in Delhi and other Union Territories will be withdrawn.
