Early warnings were issued to people likely to be affected villages as and when reports of heavy rainfall in the catchment area were received. But, the area witnessed unprecedented inflows of water, which, some claim is even more than the level witnessed in the 1993 Floods. It demanded unusual efforts on the part of relief givers.
