India call upon Pakistan on ceasefire violation; Indian Armed forces ready to deal with violations: Misri

In an urgent late night media briefing on ceasefire violation by Pakistan and prevalent situation, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said “For the last few hours, they have been repeated violations of the understanding arrived at earlier this evening between the directors general of military operations of India and Pakistan. This is a breach of the understanding arrived at earlier today. The armed forces are giving an adequate and appropriate response to these violations, and we take very, very serious notice of these violations. We call upon Pakistan to take appropriate steps to address these violations and deal with the situation with seriousness and responsibility. “

“The armed forces are maintaining a strong vision on the situation. They have been given instructions to lead strongly with any instances of repetition of the violations of the border along the international border, as well as the LoC” added Misri.

India call upon Pakistan on ceasefire violation; Indian Armed forces ready to deal with violations: Misri added that in the evening, Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan have agreed to stop all firings and military action on land, air and sea with effect from 5 p.m. on Saturday (May 10, 2025), Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri has announced.

On the other hand, almost immediately after the ceasefire violation by Pakistan, at 8:39 pm, its prime minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked US President Donald Trump for making effort on ceasefire between two neighbors . He tweeted “We thank President Trump for his leadership and proactive role for peace in the region . Pakistan appreciates the United States for facilitating this outcome, which we have accepted in the interest of regional peace and stability. We also thank Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio for their valuable contributions for peace in South Asia. Pakistan believes this marks a new beginning in the resolution of issues that have plagued the region and prevented its journey toward peace, prosperity and stability.”
