Indian Dental Association (IDA) J&K elects new office bearers

The Indian Dental Association (IDA) Jammu & Kashmir State Branch on Sunday held its Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) and Annual Elections, witnessing enthusiastic participation from members representing various local and district branches across the Union Territory.

During the AGM, Dr A. M. Naqush formally assumed charge as President of the IDA J&K State Branch. Elections were thereafter conducted for key positions for the year 2026. Dr Syed Ishtiyaq Gelani was elected as President-Elect, Dr Adil Malik as State Branch Secretary, and Dr Hysum Mushtaq as Joint Secretary. Other executive posts were declared unopposed in accordance with the election process.

The election proceedings were conducted in a transparent and orderly manner, reflecting the democratic ethos of the association. Members from across Jammu and Kashmir actively participated in the process.

Senior and eminent members of the association, including Prof. Dr H. U. Malik and Prof. Dr A. S. Obrai, congratulated the newly elected office bearers and extended their best wishes to the new leadership team.

The senior leadership expressed confidence that the newly elected team would work collectively to strengthen the dental profession, promote academic excellence, and uphold professional ethics and dignity among dental practitioners in Jammu & Kashmir.

Reaffirming its commitment to service, the IDA J&K State Branch reiterated its resolve to work for the welfare of its members and to contribute positively to oral health care and professional development in the region.
