Intellectual minds meet-4 VC’s at Punjabi University

The royal City Patiala has emerged as an education hub in Punjab with the establishment of four state level Universities here. Punjabi University, with it six decade long glorious history has been playing a key role in the region. The Vice-chancellors of all the four State Universities in Patiala, met here today on the special invitation of Prof. Arvind, Vice-chancellor, Punjabi University Patiala. Talking about this informal meeting with the Prof. G. S. Bajpai, Vice-Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Lt. Gen. J. S. Cheema, Vice-Chancellor, Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Punjab Sports University and Prof. Karamjit Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University ,
Prof. Arvind said that the emergence of Patiala as an educational hub for the development of education and sports promises a great future in the education sector of Punjab. He said that Punjabi University, Patiala is proud to be a beacon in the region with its rich educational heritage of six decades. He further said that he foresees a great future of Punjab with the establishment of four state universities in the same city as this would definitely be beneficial for the intellectual and academic development of students in Punjab and other regions in the country. He said that perhaps it is in Northern India only that a single city has four state universities situated there. He hoped that in future we all together would go a long way in the academic field due to the valuable contributions of these institutions.
Prof. G.S. Bajpai said that he is very hopeful and is seeing great future prospects in the academic field with four state Universities in this historic and beautiful city of Patiala. Lt. Gen. J. S. Cheema said that Sports University would be dynamic for the multi-faceted development of the sports sector. Talking about the uniqueness of each university, Prof. Karamjit Singh said that these four state Universities based in Patiala would give a new direction to the education sector. On the eve of World Environment Day, saplings were also planted by all these dignitaries in the Punjabi University campus here today.
