Today, senior Sikh scholar and member of the BJP Parliamentary Board, Iqbal Singh Lalpura, held a press conference where he strongly criticized the Punjab government’s land pooling scheme, labeling it as completely anti-farmer and a conspiracy to grab agricultural land.

Iqbal Singh Lalpura stated “The AAP government’s land pooling scheme is a ploy to snatch ancestral land from farmers. This scheme serves neither the interests of the farmers nor the general public. It is designed solely to benefit the real estate mafia and corrupt bureaucracy.”

He further asserted that the Aam Aadmi Party’s government in Punjab is strangling democratic values.

“Any attempt to acquire land without the consent of farmers will not be tolerated,” he said, questioning how khasra numbers (land identification numbers) could be published in newspapers without the landowners’ permission.

BJP District President Ajayvir Singh Lalpura, who recently visited affected villages such as Khairabad, Shampura, Samrala, Badi Relon, and Badi Haveli to interact with local farmers, echoed Lalpura’s stance: “If the government tries to forcibly acquire land, BJP will launch a village-to-village movement and take to the streets in defense of the farmers’ rights.”

He declared  “The land belongs to the landowners, not the Aam Aadmi Party. BJP will not allow even an inch of land to be taken by force.”

BJP leaders also announced that they will visit other affected regions across Punjab in the coming days to raise awareness among farmers about the dangers of this scheme.

The growing unity among farmers and the firm support from BJP is turning this opposition into a major public movement.

The BJP has already made it clear — it stands unwaveringly with the farmers.

During the press conference, several senior BJP leaders and workers were present, including District President Ajayvir Singh Lalpura, Jagdish Chander Kajla, Aman Kabbarwaal, Rakesh Chopra, Dharminder Singh Bhinda, Omkar Abiyana, Saurav Bansal, and Himmat Singh Girn.
