“I started my journey on December 30,2022 from Patiala at 4 PM for Ambala and reached my destination after 8 PM. It takes me and my family to cover around 55 kms in more than 4 hours. Traffic moved on slow pace due to dharna by truck unions at Shambu. Everyone faces lots of inconvenience, harassed due to undeclared dharna at Shambhu border “said Sumit

Gurjit Singh another commuter said “we are coming from Chandigarh to Patiala and got stuck at Rajpura bypass due the heavy traffic on the GT road. It takes hours to cover Rajpura city alone.”

Truck operators are staging dharna at gateway of Punjab-Shambhu border since yesterday, demanding the demanding that truck unions be allowed to operate.

Truck union members claim that they have been suffering losses for years, especially during coronavirus days; therefore, unions be allowed to run.

Due to the dharna by truck unions at Shambhu border, Patiala police has diverted the traffic coming from Delhi to Patiala via Ambala to Loh Simbli to Sarhala Head to Majouli to Chappar to Bahadurgarh to Patiala or Rajpura
