Jaswant Rai to be Chief Coach of Delhi U-19 Men’s cricket team for second consecutive term

Former Himachal Pradesh Ranji Trophy cricketer and coach of National repute Jaswant Rai would once again be at the helm and hone the skills of future stars.
He has been picked as the Chief Coach for Delhi U-19 men’s cricket team for the upcoming domestic season for the consecutive second term.
Coach Jaswant Rai gained national attention when his student Arshdeep Singh, a left-arm medium-pacer who made waves bowling for Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League, made his India debut.
Amongst the crowning credentials of this Chandigarh-based ex-cricketer, who has played 70 first-class matches, are included coaching Himachal Pradesh senior men’s team, Himachal Pradesh women’s team and Punjab U-19 women’s team. He also served as the senior men’s team selector for Himachal Pradesh from 2017 to 2019.
On being retained as Delhi U19 Cricket team Chief Coach, Jaswant Rai said that it is a great honour and he would leave no stone unturned to prove true to the faith reposed in him.
Expressing satisfaction over last year’s performance he said that after a gap of six years Delhi U19 team entered the league stage of both days and one day formats. He expressed confidence that this year Delhi U19 will win both days and one day domestic titles.
“Cricket is changing very fast therefore both the coaches as well as players need to adjust accordingly”, he said adding that planning and execution both play an important part in the modern day cricket so his focus would be to get optimum utilization of young talent in all departments batting, bowling and fielding.
