JGND Punjab State Open University celebrates 78th Independence Day

Prof. Karamjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University (JGND PSOU), Patiala hoisted the National Flag on the 78th Independence Day in the Administrative Block of the University. While addressing the faculty and staff, Prof.Karamjeet Singh remembered the martyrs and great freedom fighters who made supreme sacrifices for Indian’s freedom. “We must learn lessons from the lives of martyrs and imbibe ethical values to attain developmental goals for Vikist Bharat,” he said.
Prof. Karamjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor, talked about Viksit Bharat vision that encompassed steps to ensure India’s growth, drive innovation and scale up nation’s position as a global leader across various sectors of the economy. He said, “The Prime Minister’s vision for India reflects the aspirations of all sections of our society and would galvanise all Indians to work towards the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047.”
During the celebrations Prof. Baljit Singh Khehra, Officiating Registrar, spoke about the rich heritage of India and contribution of several freedom fighters. Prof. Gurdip Singh Batra, Dean Academic Affairs extended a vote of thanks. Prof. Kanwalbir Singh Dhindsa, CoE, Dr Navleen Multani, Dean Research, Dr Amitoj Singh, Director CITS, Dr Gagandeep Aul,Deputy Registrar, Heads of Schools, faculty and staff were also present during the Independence Day celebrations. Faculty and staff of JGND PSOU participated in Har Ghar Tiranga campaign on 78th Independence Day of India.
