Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University (JGND PSOU), Patiala signed Memorandum of Understanding with Uttarakhand Open University (UOU) in the Administrative block of the University in the presence of Prof. Karamjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor, JGND PSOU, and Prof. Om Prakash Singh Negi, Vice-Chancellor, Uttarakhand Open University. Prof. Karamjeet Singh said, “The objective of this collaboration is to enhance academic, research and cultural exchanges between both the universities.” Prof Negi said, “This MoU will ensure growth and development of Open and Distance Learning system of the higher education institutes.” “The MoU will enable joint promotion of OER, MOOCs, e-learning and self-learning material,” said Dr Pandey, Director, UOU. The MoU shall remain effective for a period of 5 years.

This partnership will facilitate joint research projects, academic exchanges and shared expertise in various domains. Fulfilling this partnership, both the universities have exchanged self-learning materials for introducing innovative courses.

JGND Punjab State Open University & Uttarakhand Open University collaborate for New Courses . Prof. Karamjeet Singh said, “JGND PSOU will  introduce new skill-based courses in upcoming academic session. These include, Certificate and Diploma courses in Right to Information (RTI), Organic farming, Commercial Horticulture, Public Health and community nutrition & Tourism Studies. Faculty Development Programme, class seminars, site visits including trips to Learner Support Centres, international symposia and activities for promotion of Skill Development Programmes will also be carried out under this collaboration.
